AIGA Minnesota Design Camp: A 40-Year Legacy in Design

For 40 years, AIGA Minnesota’s Design Camp® has been a premier design conference, bringing together creative professionals, industry leaders, and emerging designers to celebrate and advance the field of graphic design, branding, and visual storytelling.

Marking this milestone anniversary was not only significant for the design community but also for Christiansen Creative. With our deep-rooted history of attending Design Camp, the opportunity to collaborate on the event’s 40th-anniversary brand identity was a project filled with passion, purpose, and creativity.

Building a Brand for a Legacy Event

Our goal was to create a brand identity that honored Design Camp’s four-decade history while reflecting the evolution of the creative industry. We developed a versatile and dynamic event identity, designed to work across multiple platforms while maintaining a strong, cohesive visual presence.

When initial branding discussions began, Design Camp was planned as an in-person event. However, as the project evolved, it became clear that the event needed to transition to a fully virtual experience. This shift required an adaptable design system that could be seamlessly implemented across digital platforms.
