Christiansen Creative recently brought home 11 awards — across five categories — from the 2014 American Graphic Design Awards by GDUSA Magazine. For five decades, this competition has been one of the leading national design competitions recognizing outstanding work in graphic design.
(Re)design Awards Brand Identity
Designing for other designers in creating the brand identity and awareness campaign for the AIGA Minnesota (Re)design Awards was a challenge CC welcomed and took seriously, so receiving a GDUSA award for this project was an exceptional honor. The campaign’s goal was to further educate the design community about the (Re)design Awards, a competition that recognizes design projects impacting environmental, economic, social or cultural issues.
Responsive Website, Promotional Kit
Two of the awards were for projects aimed and introducing a new company’s capabilities, mission and authority. After developing Intrinsic Leadership’s brand in 2013, CC extended the identity to a responsive website and promotional kit outlining the company’s resources, goals and credentials. The website’s responsive capabilities and the kit’s oversized brochure made for an inviting user experience, contributing to the success of these projects.
Adoption Option Council of Minnesota
Forever in my Heart Gala Logo
CC’s winning logo submission to the competition was the Forever in my Heart gala logo for Adoption Option Council of Minnesota (AOCM). The logo (along with its supporting materials) was developed to evoke a sense of elegance for the nonprofit’s fundraising event.
Brand Identity, VIP Grand Opening Invitation
Stone Tap Gastropub is another new establishment CC partnered with to create branding and collateral materials in 2013. The watering hole’s brand identity (top) and VIP grand opening event invitation (bottom) each earned an award from GDUSA. The goal of the VIP kit was to ramp up intrigue and entice food and beverage critics to attend the launch.
Another CC-designed kit that received a GDUSA award was one complementing CC’s brand refresh for the Grassworks Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship (DGA). The dimensional mailer, sent to prospective sponsors, worked towards DGA’s goal of broadening brand awareness and raising funds to support the program.
CC also received an award for a high-impact direct mail piece for a Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society West District event, which took place at a ballpark. The baseball-themed invitation was dimensional to increase open rates and maximize engagement.
